Chillout has to be one of my favorite types of electronica. To be sure I use the term quite broadly but there is just so much room for interpretation of what is chill. This style of music allows for an incredible synergy between acoustic instrumentation and electronic production. How else could you bring such diverse influences together into a single track? It's really hard to describe with words. Just take a listen and you'll see what I mean.
If you like these songs or the trip hop podcast from a while back you'll probably be interested in this song I just found yesterday. It's off a 1998 collection of Kruder and Dorfmeister remixes and the original track is by Lamb (classic trip hop group). I haven't heard the whole double album but if this track is any indication, I bet its amazing. And is just me or does this song sound live? And not just cause of the crowd noise. Either way, absolutely killer.
Thanks for listening and don't forget to support the artists. Just so you know I'm doing my part too, I'm ordering the K&D remix album on import right now.
